The app a teacher and a technologist wished existed.
Built by one family who live on both sides of the school gate. The people sending the messages, and the people drowning in them.
Shilpa Patel
A qualified teacher and Teach First ambassador, she teaches Economics. Shilpa has stood on the school's side, sending these very messages, then lived the same chaos at home as a mum. She cares deeply about education, and about the families trying to keep up with it.
Milan Shah
A tech entrepreneur, and a dad who felt the same overwhelm every evening, and who could actually build the fix. Milan is Shilpa's brother. Where she saw the flood from the inside, he saw a way to hold it back.
A recorder, a wasted hour, and one lost instrument.
Our son needed a recorder for his music lesson. The message telling us to buy one had landed weeks earlier, buried somewhere behind a hundred other school emails.
My wife and I get all the same messages. What we don’t get is any way to know who’s dealing with what. So while I was heads-down on the school admin, new baby at home, both of us running on empty, she’d quietly sorted it. She just hadn’t mentioned it. Why would she?
I only found out he needed one at all from the class WhatsApp group. I went to the school portal to pay, couldn’t find it anywhere, and gave up. The group told me the trick: email the teacher, then pay on the portal by searching for this, tapping that, and letting her know. So I did all of it.
She’d already paid. An hour of my evening, gone. On a recorder we already owned.
He’s since lost the recorder.
One message. Two parents. Five apps. And still the ball dropped. That isn’t a discipline problem. It’s a design problem. It’s the exact problem LOAD exists to end.
The people sending the messages and the people drowning in them are the same exhausted parents.
A teacher who sends the flood. A technologist who could dam it. Both of them parents, living it every single evening. LOAD came from a perspective only this family could have had. School life seen clearly from both sides of the gate at once.
Never sell. Only serve.
A promise, not a marketing line. Children's data and parents' inboxes are the most sensitive things we could hold, so we hold them carefully.
No ads to parents
Your to-do list will never be a billboard. We don't sell your attention, and we never will.
Never monetising children's data
A child's school life is not a product. We will never sell, trade, or profit from data about your children.
Built to the ICO Children's Code
GDPR and the ICO Children's Code aren't a box we tick. They're the baseline we started from.
Your to-do list now. Families kept in the loop next.
We started with the thing every parent needs today: a school PA that reads the whole flood of comms and hands you one clear to-do list per child. Next, we're helping schools keep families genuinely in the loop, and stay compliant while they do it.
One to-do list for every family. Dates, deadlines and payments, sorted per child.
Helping schools reach parents who actually read it, with consent kept current and evidenced.
